Samsung has rolled out official OTA Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update XXDLIB for Galaxy S3 users. In this post we will go through the guide to upgrade Galaxy S3 to official XXDLIB Android 4.1 Jelly Bean firmware.
The guide below is only for Galaxy S3 I9300 and is not compatible with any other device.Check model number of your device by going to Settings >> About Phone.

Upgrade Galaxy S3 to Official XXDLIB Android 4.1 Jelly Bean firmware
Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.
Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.
Download XXDLIB firmware filename-GT-I9300_XEO_1_20120922093900_w8pdod73hi.zip and Odin3 v3.04 filename- Odin3_v3.04.zip.
Extract “GT-I9300_XEO_1_20120922093900_w8pdod73hi.zip” to get “I9300XXDLIB_I9300OXFDLI1_I9300XXDLIB_HOME.tar.md5” file.
Extract Odin zip file to get “Odin3 v3.04.exe” file.
Switch off device and enter into download mode. Press Volume Down, Home and Power buttons together till the screen turns on and then press Volume Up to enter download mode.
Launch Odin by double-clicking on “Odin3 v3.04.exe ” file which you extracted.
Connect device to computer using USB cable. Odin will detect the device and ID:COM will turn Yellow.
In Odin click on “PDA” and select “I9300XXDLIB_I9300OXFDLI1_I9300XXDLIB_HOME.tar.md5” file and click on “install” to install firmware on your device.
Once installations gets complete your device will reboot automatically.
If Odin gets stuck then disconnect device from computer, close Odin and remove battery and then insert again.
If device does not reboots by itself then “Wipe data/Factory Reset” to wipe data and then select “reboot system now”.
Galaxy S3 is being upgraded to Official XXDLIB Android 4.1 Jelly Bean firmware.
