Verizon Galaxy S3 users can update their device to a new Android 4.1 Jelly Bean ROM ToUcHmYbEaNs ROM. This is not an official update by Samsung or Verizon but is a Custom ROM and all thanks goes to Recognized XDA Developer for making it possible.
The ROM is based on leaked Android 4.1 firmware and has few bugs as GPS is not showing directions.
The guide mentioned below is only for Verizon Galaxy S3 SCH-I535 and cannot be tried on any other variant. Do know the Model of your device Go to Settings >> About Phone.

Update Verizon Galaxy S3 to ToUcHmYbEaNs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean ROM
Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.
Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.
Bootloader on your device should be unlocked.
Install ClockworkMod recovery on your device.
Download the latest version of ROM from here and copy it to SD Card of your device without extracting.
Switch off your device and boot into ClockworkMod recovery. You can do that by pressing and holding down the Volume Up, Volume Down and Power buttons.
Take a Nandrop Backup of your existing ROM. Select Backup and Restore >> On the next screen and then select “Backup again”.
Select the option “wipe data/factory reset” and then confirm to wipe.
Select “install zip from sdcard” and then “choose zip from sdcard”. Navigate to ROM file on SD Card and confirm to install. ROM will start installing. Wait for 3-4 minutes.
Once installation is complete. Select “Go back” then select “Reboot system now”.
ToUcHmYbEaNs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean ROM is installed on your Verizon Galaxy S3.
