Unbrick Samsung Galaxy S3 (US Variant)

Sometimes while installing a Custom ROM or Recovery Android device gets bricked, which means it stops responding. If you are having Samsung Galaxy S3 (US) and has got bricked then no need to panic as XDA Recognized Developer mskip has got a solution for the same.

In this post we will be going through the guide to unbrick Samsung Galaxy S3 (US variant).

The guide mentioned below is only for Samsung Galaxy S3 US variant and cannot be tried on any other device or variant. You can check device model by going to Settings >> About phone.

Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.

Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.

Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.

Download Odin required to flash the image.

Download the required Stock image for Samsung Galaxy S3 from the links below-

T-Mobile Stock Image (boot-stock-tmobile-sgh-t999.tar).

AT&T Stock Image (boot-stock-att-sgh-i747.tar).

Sprint Stock Image (boot-stock-sprint-sph-l710.tar).

Extract Odin and run it. Check “Auto Reboot” and “F. Reset Time” options in Odin.

Switch off device and enter into download mode. Press and hold Volume Down, Home, Power till device turns on and then press Volume Up to enter download mode.

Connect device to computer using USB cable. Odin will detect your device and ID:COM will turn yellow and a message appears saying “Added”. Re-install drivers if Odin fails to detect device.

Click on “PDA button” in Odin and navigate to select “.tar″ file which you have downloaded.

Click on Start button in Odin to start flashing Stock image file. When flashing is complete you will get a PASS message.

Disconnect device from your computer. Device will reboot.

Samsung Galaxy S3 is now unbricked.
