Root OnePlus 3T and install TWRP Recovery. OnePlus 3T is a 5.50-inch touchscreen display smartphone with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels, powered by 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, 6GB of RAM and runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

TWRP Recovery will enable you to install Custom ROMs, MODs and more.

The guide mentioned below is only for OnePlus 3T and cannot be tried on any other device or variant. You can check device model by going to Settings >> About Phone.

Root OnePlus 3T and install TWRP Recovery 

Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.

Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.

Enable “USB debugging” on your device.

Install the ADB and fastboot drivers on your PC.

Bootloader should be unlocked.

Download TWRP Recovery for Oneplus 3T.

Rename the Oneplus 3T TWRP Recovery.img to “recovery.img” and place the file in the ADB folder.

Connect your device to the PC via USB cable.

Right-click on ADB folder while holding down the Shift Key and select ‘Open command window here’.

In the command prompt window type commands and hit enter:

adb reboot bootloader

Your device will reboot in fastboot mode.


fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

and hit enter. This will flash the recovery on your device.

Type fastboot reboot to reboot your device.

How to root OnePlus 3T

Download the here and Latest dm-verity and forced encryption disabler for OnePlus 3T.

Transfer the file to your device internal storage.

Boot your device into Recovery Mode by pressing and holding the Volume Down and Power buttons.

Go to Install in recovery mode and flash the dm-verity-opt-encrypt zip.

Flash SuperSU on your device, it will take some time.

Your device will reboot once SuperSU  is flashed.

You have rooted OnePlus 3T and installed TWRP Recovery.
