Galaxy Note 3 N900 can be rooted easily on official UBUDNB2 Android 4.4.2 kitKat firmware easily. You can go through the guide to install UBUDNB2 Android 4.4.2 KitKat for Galaxy Note 3 N900. Rooting will enable you to install apps which require root access along with other Custom apps.

Galaxy Note 3 N900 should be running on UBUDNB2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware.

Root Galaxy Note 3 N900 on UBUDNB2 Android 4.4.2 firmware
Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.
Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.
Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.
Download Kies Software to install drivers.
Extract the Firmware file which you have downloaded in above step. You will get “.tar” file along with other files.
Extract Odin to get “Odin3_v3.09.zip” file.
Switch off device.
Boot device into download mode. Press and hold Volume Down, Home, Power till device turns on and then press Volume Up to enter download mode.
Connect device to computer using USB cable. Odin will detect your device and ID:COM will turn yellow and a message appears saying “Added”. Re-install drivers if Odin fails to detect device.
Click on “PDA button” in Odin and navigate to select “.tar″ file which you have downloaded.
In Odin make sure that “Auto Reboot” and “F.Reset Time” are selected and “Re-Partition” check box is unchecked.
Click on Start button in Odin to start flashing Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware. When flashing is complete you will get a PASS message.
Disconnect device from your computer and let it boot automatically.
