Root and install TWRP Recovery on Essential Phone. Essential Phone smartphone comes with a 5.71-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1312 pixels by 2560 pixels, powered by 1.9GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
TWRP Recovery will enable you to install Custom ROMs, MODs and more.
The guide mentioned below is only for Essential Phone and cannot be tried on any other device or variant. You can check device model by going to Settings >> About Phone.
Root Essential Phone and install TWRP Recovery
Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.
Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.
Enable “USB debugging” on your device.
Install the ADB and fastboot drivers on your PC.
Bootloader should be unlocked.
Download TWRP Recovery for Essential Phone as per your build from here.
Download latest version of Magisk on your device from here.
Reboot your phone into the bootloader, open command prompt and flash the correct TWRP build for your device and type:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
and hit enter. This will flash the recovery on your device.
Type fastboot reboot to reboot your device.
When in TWRP, flash Magisk by selecting it from the “Install” menu.
