AT&T Galaxy Note 2 users can root their device using Auto-Root by Chainfire. Auto-Root will grant you root access but will increase flash counter on your device but you can reset the counter by using Triangle Away app by Chainfire. In this post we will go through the procedure to root AT&T Galaxy Note 2 by using Auto-Root by Chainfire. The method will also work on AT&T Galaxy Note 2 LTE.
The guide mentioned below is only for AT&T Galaxy Note 2. International version. You can check Model number of device by going to Settings >> About phone.

Root AT&T Galaxy Note 2/ AT&T Note 2 LTE using Auto-Root by Chainfire
Install drivers for your device 32 bit (x86) for Windows and 64-bit (x64) for Windows.
Download CF-Auto-Root for AT&T Galaxy Note 2 from here and AT&T Galaxy Note 2 LTE from here. Extract the zip files, you will get a folder named “CF-Auto-Root-.tar.md5”.
Download Odin from here (filename- Odin3_v3.04.zip) and extract the contents of the file. You will get “Odin3 v3.04.exe”.
Switch off device and enter download mode. Press and hold Volume Down, Home and Power keys to enter into download mode.
Double click “Odin3 v3.04.exe” to launch Odin and connect device to your computer. Odin will detect device ID:COM will change the color to Yellow and you will get message saying ADDED.
Click on PDA in Odin and navigate to select “CF-Auto-Root-.tar.md5”.
Click on Start button to flash CF-Auto-Root. When the process gets complete device will reboot automatically.
