TWRP Recovery is a better alternative to ClockworkMod (CWM) recovery to install custom ROMs. T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 can now install TWRP recovery on to their device easily. In this post we will go through guide to install TWRP Recovery on T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2.
The guide mentioned below is only for T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 SGH-T889. You can check Model number of device by going to Settings >> About phone.

Install TWRP Recovery on T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2
Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.
Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.
Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.
Install Kies software on your computer.
Download drivers 32 bit (x86) Windows and 64-bit (x64) Windows.
Download TWRP recovery (filename- openrecovery-twrp-18.104.22.168-t0ltetmo.img.tar) and download Odin from here (filename- Odin3_v3.04.zip).
Extract Odin3_v3.04.zip file to folder and switch off device.
Put device in download mode. Press and hold Volume Down, Home, Power till the screen turns on. Then press Volume Up to enter download mode.
Connect your device to computer now. Odin will detect device and ID:COM will change color and you will get a message saying ADDED in Odin. If you don’t get ADDED message then make sure that drivers are installed properly.
Click on PDA button in Odin and select “openrecovery-twrp-22.214.171.124-t0ltetmo.img.tar” file which you have downloaded in earlier step. Don’t select Re-Partition check box.
Click on START button to start flashing TWRP recovery on your device. Device will reboot automatically when flashing is complete Samsung logo will appear. Remove USB cable safely.
TWRP recovery is installed on T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2, now you can install Custom ROMs.
