Install TWRP Recovery on HTC One

TWRP Recovery for recently announced HTC One is released. HTC One is 4.7-inch Super LCD3 display, powered by 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset, 2GB RAM and having 32/64GB built-in storage.

Team Win Recovery Project have released TWRP Recovery for HTC One. TWRP Recovery will let you to install custom ROMs, kernels, other customization files, performs fast backups, has inbuilt file manager and so on. In this post we will be going through the guide to install TWRP Recovery on HTC One.

The guide mentioned below is only for HTC One and cannot be tried on any other device. You can check Model number of device by going to Settings >> About phone.

We cannot be held liable of any damage done to your device while following the below mentioned procedure.


Install TWRP Recovery on HTC One

Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.

Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.

Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.

Bootloader on your device should be unlocked.

To install drivers download HTC Sync Manager.

Download the Fastboot zip file to flash. Download Fastboot (Filename:

Extract the files to a folder named as “Fastboot”.

Download TWRP recovery file from here. Extract the file to get file named “recovery.img”.

Copy the “recovery.img” file to “Fastboot” folder.

Switch off device and boot into HBOOT/bootloader mode by holding down the Volume down, Power buttons simultaneously till the screen turns on. Now select “FASTBOOT” option , “HBOOT” will change into “FASTBOOT USB”.

Connect device to your computer via USB Cable.

Open “Fastboot” folder on your computer and click on “Open command window here” to open command prompt window.

Enter the following commands now-

Type “fastboot devices” and then press enter – it will recognize your device and show your device ID.

Type “fastboot flash recovery recovery.img” – this will flash recovery and you will get a confirmation message.

Disconnect device.

Select “HBOOT” by pressing Power button to reboot device into TWRP recovery.

Select “Reboot” from TWRP Recovery options to boot device.

TWRP Recovery is installed on your HTC One.
