Stock Amazon Kindle HD ROM can be installed on Samsung Nexus S. Earlier, we have seen how to install Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean on Amazon Kindle Fire and now we will be going to step by step guide to install stock Amazon Kindle HD ROM on Nexus S.
The ROM is not an official ROM by Google or Samsung and is not meant for daily use as it is unstable. The ROM will not install all the features of Kindle HD.
RIL (You can just send SMS, no receive or phone/data)
Wifi (It detect Wifi, but acting weird…)
ADB (logcat, push…)
Camera (there is no camera app and camera from CM does not work
Bluetooth (not present in settings)
Some option in settings
Reboot because of libaudioflinger
The guide is only for Samsung Nexus S and cannot be tried on any other device. You can find model of your device by going to Settings >> About Phone.

Install Stock Amazon Kindle HD ROM on Samsung Nexus S
Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.
Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.
Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.
Your device should be rooted else you cannot install the ROM. You should remember that rooting voids warranty and you can regain it after you have installed stock firmware.
ClockworkMod recovery should be installed.
Download stock Kindle HD ROM from here.
Copy the ROM which you have downloaded to your device.
Switch off device and boot into recovery.
Press and hold the Volume Up and Volume Down and Power buttons.
Perform a Nandrop back up of your existing ROM so that you can revert. Select Backup and Restore option from the recovery mode and then select backup again.
Select “wipe data/factory reset” and confirm to wipe all data. Wait for few minutes.
Select “install zip from sdcard” and then select “choose zip from sdcard”. Navigate to ROM file and select to install. Wait till installation is complete.
Select “go back” and then select “reboot system now”.
Stock Amazon Kindle HD ROM on Samsung Nexus S is installed.
