Install Slim Bean Android 4.2.1 ROM On T-Mobile Galaxy S3

T-Mobile Galaxy S3 users can update their device to Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean via Slim Bean Custom ROM. The ROM has been released by XDA Senior Member gmillz and is being taken from AOSP source.

We will be going through the guide to install Slim Bean Custom ROM based on Android 4.2.1 on T-Mobile Galaxy S3.

The guide mentioned below is only for T-Mobile Galaxy S3 and will not work on any other device. To check the Model of your device go to Settings >> About phone.

Slim Bean ROM

Install Slim Bean Android 4.2.1 ROM On T-Mobile Galaxy S3

Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.

Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.

Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.

Make sure that ClockworkMod Recovery is installed.

Download Slim Bean ROM for T-Mobile Galaxy S3 and Google Apps Package.

Copy both the zip files to SD-Card of your device without extracting.

Switch off device.

Boot into recovery. Press and hold down the Volume Up, Volume Down and Power buttons to enter recovery.

Select “wipe data/factory reset” and wait for data to get wiped completely.

Perform a Nandrop backup of your existing ROM. Select “Backup and Restore” and then select “Backup” again. Now, go back to main recovery menu once backup is complete.

Select “install zip from sdcard” and then select “choose zip from sdcard”. Navigate to “Slim Bean ROM” file which you have downloaded and confirm to “install”. Wait for few minutes.

Repeat the procedure to install Google apps by selecting “choose zip from sdcard” and then select “” and install.

Select “reboot system now”.
