Motorola has rolled out Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for Motorola Droid RAZR & RAZR MAXX. However, many users were unable to get the official OTA of Android 4.1.2 as update was stopped in middle of downloading.
XDA member DevAB managed to get the full update and has shared the OTA zip files with others. In this article we will be going through the guide to install officially Android 4.1.2 OTA on Droid RAZR/RAZR MAXX manually.
Before you go ahead, your Motorola Droid RAZR & RAZR MAXX must be on stock ICS firmware without any modifications and should have microSD card on your device. If you are on a rooted device then disable root to install the official update for the time.
The guide mentioned below is only for Motorola Droid RAZR / RAZR MAXX CDMA versions from Verizon and will not work for GSM version. You can check Model number of device by going to Settings >> About phone.

Install official Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update on Droid RAZR / RAZR MAXX
Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.
Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.
Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.
Download the zip file to external storage of your device.
Swich off device.
Boot into stock recovery by turning off the phone and turning on by pressing Volume Up and down at the same time, scroll to recovery and choose it by pressing Volume Up.
Wipe cache by selecting “wipe cache”. It will bot erase data.
Select “install zip from external sdcard” and navigate to “Blur_Version.6.16.211.XT912.Verizon.en.US.zip” file you transferred and select it to install.
The OTA will take some time (8 minutes) to install and your device may reboot a few times while the update is getting installed.
Device will now boot into Android 4.1.2.
Official Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update on Droid RAZR / RAZR MAXX is installed.
