Samsung Galaxy S 3 has received I9300XXELKC Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update in Poland and soon it will be made available to some other countries. You can update your Galaxy S 3 to the latest OTA by Samsung KIES software or by installing it manually on your device.
Here, we will be going through step by step guide to update Galaxy S 3 to I9300XXELKC Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
The guide mentioned below is compatible with Galaxy S 3 model number I9300 and may not work with any other device.

Install I9300XXELKC Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Update On Galaxy S 3 I9300
Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.
Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.
Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.
Download and install required drivers – 32 bit (x86) Windows drivers and 64-bit (x64) Windows drivers.
Download Android 4.1.2 OTA update for Galaxy S3 from here (GT-I9300_XEO_I9300XXELKC_I9300OXXELK4_I9300XXELKC.zip) and extract the file in a folder.
Download Odin and extract the contents to get “Odin3 v3.04.exe” file.
Switch off device and boot into download mode. To enter into download mode Press Volume up, Power and you will see a “warning’ message”. Release Power buttons and press ‘Volume up’.
Connect your device to computer. Odin will detect your device and ID:COM will turn yellow and a message appears saying “Added”. If Odin fails to detect device then you will have to install drivers again.
Click on PDA Button and navigate to select “GT-I9300_XEO_I9300XXELKC_I9300OXXELK4_I9300XXELKC_HOME.tar.md5” file which you downloaded in earlier step.
Click on Start button in Odin to start flashing Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware. When flashing is complete you will get a PASS message.
Disconnect device from your computer and let the device boot.
