Samsung Vibrant users can now taste the goodness of Android 4.2 via CyanogenMod 10.1 which is been ported by XDA Recognized Developer FaultException to Vibrant.
The CyanogenMod 10.1 ROM is in alpha stage and there may be some bugs. As per source page lockscreen clock/widget is clipped and Setup wizard is weird.
The guide below is only for the Samsung Vibrant and cannot be tried on any other device.

Install CyanogenMod 10.1 on Samsung Vibrant
Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.
Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.
Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.
Make sure that ClockworkMod (CWM) recovery is installed.
Download ROM from here (cm-10.1-vibrantmtd-alpha-1.zip) and Google Apps Package from here (gapps-jb42-20121120.zip).
Copy both the zip files to your device SD-Card without extracting.
Switch off device and boot into recovery mode. Hold down Volume down and Power buttons simultaneously. Then using Volume buttons select Recovery mode.
Perform a Nandrop backup of your existing ROM. It is advisable that you take a back up so that you can go back if anything gets wrong. Select “Backup and Restore” and then select “Backup” again.
Select “wipe data/factory reset” and confirm to wipe data.
Select “install zip from sdcard” and select “choose zip from sdcard”. Navigate to ROM file and select to confirm installation. Wait till it gets installed.
Select “choose zip from sdcard” again and select to install “Google apps package”.
Select “Go Back” and select “Reboot System Now” to reboot your device.
CM10.1 based on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is installed on your Samsung Vibrant.
