Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7 users can now enjoy the features of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean such as improved Google Now, Panorama photography, lockscreen widgets and more with CyanogenMod 10.1 (CM10.1) which is been released by XDA Recognized Developer noobnl.
You should note that CyanogenMod 10.1 is AOSP ROM and is in early stage so there may be bugs.
In this post we will be going thrrough step by step guide to install CyanogenMod 10.1 on Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.
The ROM and guide mentioned below are compatible with Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Wi-Fi Model.
We cannot be held liable of any damage done to your device while following the below mentioned procedure.
Install CyanogenMod 10.1 on Galaxy Tab 2 7.0
Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.
Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.
Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.
ClockworkMod (CWM) recovery should be installed.
Download CyanogenMod 10.1 ROM from here and Google Apps Package from here.
Copy both the zip files to SD-Card of your device without extracting.
Switch off device and boot into recovery. Hold down Volume down and Power buttons simultaneously. Then using Volume buttons select Recovery mode.
Take a backup of your ROM. Select “Backup and Restore” and then select “Backup” again.
Select “wipe data/factory reset” and confirm to wipe data.
Select “install zip from sdcard” and select “choose zip from sdcard”. Navigate to ROM file and select to confirm installation. Wait till it gets installed.
Select “choose zip from sdcard” again and select to install “Google apps package”.
Select “Go Back” and select “Reboot System Now” to reboot your device.
Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is installed on your Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.
