Install CyanogenMod 10.1 On Canadian Optimus G

Cyanogenmod 10.1 based on Android 4.2.1 is been ported to Canadian Optimus G, thanks to XDA Senior Member chadouming. As per the developer the ROM is working fine on Telus carrier and he is not sure if it will with other carriers.

The ROM is not stable and may have bugs and issues.

Bluetooth -> Mac address can’t be read so it’s randomized every reboot (You always need to re-pair)

We will be going through the guide to install CyanogenMod 10.1 based on Android 4.2.1 on Canadian Optimus G.

The guide is only for Canadian Optimus G (will not work on Sprint and AT&T phone) or any other device. You can find model of your device by going to Settings >> About Phone.

Install CyanogenMod 10.1 on Canadian Optimus G

Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.

Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.

Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.

Make sure that Clockworkmod recovery is installed and bootloader of device is unlocked.

Download CyanogenMod 10.1 ROM and Google Apps Package.

Without extracting copy both the zip files to SD-Card of your device.

Switch off device and boot into recovery. Hold power button and volume down button and enter recovery.

Perform a Nandrop backup of your existing ROM. Select “Backup and Restore” and then select “Backup again”.

Select “wipe data/factory reset” and wait till data gets wiped.

Select “install zip from sdcard” and then select “choose zip from sdcard”. Navigate to the AOKP ROM file which you have downloaded and confirm to “install”. Wait for installation to get complete.

Repeat the procedure to install Google apps by selecting “choose zip from sdcard” and then select “” and install.

Select “reboot system now”.

CyanogenMod 10.1 based on Android 4.2.1 is installed on Canadian Optimus G.
