Samsung Galaxy S I9000 has received CM 10.1 Nightly build based on Android 4.2.1. Users can experience AOSP Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean features such as Lock screen widgets, Swype-like typing, panoramic 360 photography, improved Google Now and more.
CM 10.1 nightly build may have bugs and some features may not be working. We will be going through step by step guide tto install CM 10.1 nightly build on Samsung Galaxy S I9000. You should remember that this is a Custom ROM and not an official ROM by Samsung or Google.
The guide is only for Samsung Galaxy S I9000 and cannot be tried on any other device. You can find model of your device by going to Settings >> About Phone.

Install CyanogenMod 10.1 nightly build on Galaxy S I9000
Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.
Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.
Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.
Bootloader on your device should be unlocked.
Clockwork Mod recovery should be installed.
Download CM 10.1 nightly build for Galaxy S I9000 and Google Apps Package.
Copy both the zip files to SD-Card of your device. Don’t extract files.
Switch off device and boot into recovery. Hold power button and volume down button and enter recovery.
Perform a Nandrop backup of your existing ROM. Select “Backup and Restore” and then select “Backup again”.
Select “wipe data/factory reset” and wait for few minutes till data gets wiped.
Select “install zip from sdcard” and then select “choose zip from sdcard”. Navigate to the AOKP ROM file which you have downloaded and confirm to “install”. Wait for installation to get complete.
Repeat the procedure to install Google apps by selecting “choose zip from sdcard” and then select “Gapps.zip” and install.
Select “reboot system now”.
