You can now install CyanogenMod 10.1 (CM10.1) based on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean on your Samsung Galaxy S 3 and thanks goes to Recognized Developer codeworkx for making it possible. The ROM has few bugs which developer will iron out soon.
Known issues with CyanogenMod 10.1 for Galaxy S 3, as per source page –
– UI: lags, tearing, glitches
– UI: Apps like NHK are broken
– UI: Black screen on Phone app. Don’t do phone calls.
– Camera: Recording effects broken
– Camera: Touch 2 focus issues with enabled flashlight
– Bluetooth: audio streaming sometimes becomes laggy or stops at a distance > 1m
– FM Radio: unsupported
– TV Out: unsupported, will never work (proprietary, undocumented)
– Lots of missing and yet unimplemented features

We will be now going through the guide to install CyanogenMod 10.1 on Galaxy S 3.
The guide mentioned below is only for international version of the Galaxy S3,model no.I9300 and cannot be tried on any other device. You can check model of your device by going to Settings » About phone.
We cannot be held liable of any damage done to your device while following the below mentioned procedure.
Install CyanogenMod 10.1 on Galaxy S 3 I9300
Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data. Select “Backup and Restore” and then select “Backup” again.
Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.
Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.
Install ClockworkMod Touch Recovery 6.0 On Galaxy S3 I9300.
Download CyanogenMod 10.1 from here and Google apps package from here.
Copy both the zip files to SD-Card of your device without extracting.
Switch off device and enter into recovery. Press and hold the Volume Up and Volume Down and Power buttons to enter recovery.
Perform a Nandrop backup of your existing ROM. Select “Backup and Restore” and then select “Backup” again.
Select “wipe data/factory reset” and confirm to wipe data. Wait till the data gets wiped.
Select “install zip from sdcard” and select “choose zip from sdcard”. Navigate to ROM file and select to confirm installation. Wait till installation gets finsihed.
Select “choose zip from sdcard” again and select to install “Google apps package”.
Select “Go Back” and select “Reboot System Now” to reboot your device.
CyanogenMod 10.1 (CM10.1) based on Android 4.2.1 is installed on Galaxy S 3 I9300.
