Samsung Galaxy Ace users can install Android 4.2.1 through CyanogenMod 10.1. CyanogenMod 10.1 (CM10.1) is a Custom ROM and is still in development stage. Users can get the features of Android 4.2.1 such as Lock screen widgets, improved Google Now, Swype-like typing, panoramic 360 photography.
We will be going through the guide to install CyanogenMod 10.1 for Galaxy Ace S5830.

The guide is only for Galaxy Ace S5830 and cannot be tried on any other device. You can find model of your device by going to Settings >> About Phone.

Install CyanogenMod 10.1 on Galaxy Ace S5830
Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.
Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.
Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.
ClockworkMod recovery should be installed.
Download CyanogenMod 10.1 for Galaxy Ace S5830 ( cm-10.1-20121231-UNOFFICIAL-cooper.zip).
Copy both the zip files to SD-Card of your device without extracting.
Switch off device and boot into recovery. Hold power button and volume down button and enter recovery.
Perform a Nandrop backup of your existing ROM. Select “Backup and Restore” and then select “Backup again”.
Select “wipe data/factory reset” and wait till the data gets wiped.
Select “install zip from sdcard” and then select “choose zip from sdcard”. Navigate to the “CyanogenMod 10.1 for Galaxy Ace S5830” zip file which you have downloaded and confirm to “install”. Wait for few minutes till installation gets complete.
Select “reboot system now”.
