Install CM10.1 Android 4.2.2 on Galaxy S2 I9100G

Install CM10.1 nightly build on Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100G based on Android 4.2.2. Android 4.2.2 comes with minor stability enhancements and bug fixes. CyanogenMod10.1 is a Custom ROM and not an official ROM by Samsung.

We will be going through the tutorial to install CM10.1 nightly build on Galaxy S2 I9100G based on Android 4.2.2. Nightly build updates itself every day and then finally a stable version is released. There may be bugs and issues as nightly builds are often not tested.

The guide is only for Galaxy S2 I9100G and cannot be tried on any other device. You can find model of your device by going to Settings >> About Phone.

Install CM10.1 Android 4.2.2 on Galaxy S2 I9100G

Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.

Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.

Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.

ClockworkMod recovery should be installed.

Download CM10.1 Android 4.2.2 for Galaxy S2 I9100G(cm-10.1-20130221-NIGHTLY-i9100g.zip) and Google Apps Package.

Copy both the zip files to SD-Card of your device without extracting.

Switch off device and boot into recovery. Hold power button and volume down button and enter recovery.

Perform a Nandrop backup of your existing ROM. Select “Backup and Restore” and then select “Backup again”.

Select “wipe data/factory reset” and wait till the data gets wiped.

Select “install zip from sdcard” and then select “choose zip from sdcard”. Navigate to the CyanogenMod 10.1 ROM file which you have downloaded and confirm to “install”. Wait for few minutes till installation gets complete.

Repeat the procedure to install Google apps by selecting “choose zip from sdcard” and then select “Gapps.zip” and install.

Select “reboot system now”.

CyanogenMod 10.1 Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean is installed on Galaxy S2 I9100G.
