Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 can now be updated to Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean using CyanogenMod 10.1 nightly build. Users can now enjoy the features of Android 4.2.1 such as as Lock screen widgets, improved Google Now, Swype-like typing, panoramic 360 photography and others.
CyanogenMod 10.1 nightly build is in early development stage and may have bugs and issues. CM 10.1 is a Custom ROM and not an official ROM by Samsung or Google.
The guide is only for Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 and cannot be tried on any other device. You can find model of your device by going to Settings >> About Phone.

Install CyanogenMod 10.1 nightly build on Samsung Galaxy Note N7000
Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.
Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.
Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.
Unlock bootloader on your device.
Clockwork Mod recovery should be installed.
Download CM 10.1 nightly build for Galaxy Note N7000 and Google Apps Package.
Copy both the zip files to SD-Card of your device without extracting.
Switch off device and boot into recovery. You can do that by holding power button and volume down button and enter recovery.
Perform a Nandrop backup of your existing ROM. Select “Backup and Restore” and then select “Backup again”.
Select “wipe data/factory reset” and wait till the data gets wiped.
Select “install zip from sdcard” and then select “choose zip from sdcard”. Navigate to the AOKP ROM file which you have downloaded and confirm to “install”. Wait till installation gets complete.
Repeat the procedure to install Google apps by selecting “choose zip from sdcard” and then select “Gapps.zip” and install.
Select “reboot system now”.
