Samsung Galaxy Nexus I9250 can be updated to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean via Custom ROM named as CarbonRom. The ROM comes with with new features and improvements for your Android. We will be going through the tutorial to install CarbonROM based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on Galaxy Nexus I9250. CarbonROM is a Custom ROM and not an official ROM. There may be few bugs and issues.

Install CarbonROM Android 4.2.2 ROM On Galaxy Nexus I9250
Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.
Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.
Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.
Make sure that ClockworkMod Recovery is installed. Guide to install ClockworkMod recovery 6.0 on Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
Download CarbonROM Android 4.2.2 ROM for Galaxy Nexus I9250 (CARBON-JB-v1.6-maguro.zip) and Google Apps Package (gapps-jb-20130301-signed).
Copy the zip file to SD-Card of your device without extracting.
Switch off device.
Boot into recovery. Press and hold down the Volume Up, Volume Down and Power buttons to enter recovery.
Select “wipe data/factory reset” and in Advanced select “Wipe Dalvik Cache”.
Perform a Nandrop backup of your existing ROM. Select “Backup and Restore” and then select “Backup” again. Now, go back to main recovery menu once backup is complete.
Select “install zip from sdcard” and then select “choose zip from sdcard”. Navigate to “CarbonROM” file which you have downloaded and confirm to “install”. Wait for few minutes.
Select “reboot system now”.
