We have seen earlier how to install CM10 on Galaxy Note 2 and now XDA Recognized Developer toxicthunder has released AOKP ROM for Galaxy Note 2. The ROM provides faster performance and better customization options.
As per the developer the ROM has few issues which includes Audio and Tethering and NFC issues.
The guide mentioned below is only for Galaxy Note 2- model number N7100. You can check Model number of device by going to Settings >> About phone.

Install AOKP ROM on Galaxy Note 2
Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.
Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.
Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.
Install ClockworkMod recovery on your device.
Download AOKP from here and Google Apps package from here (filename: gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip).
Copy both the zip files to Internal SD-Card without extracting.
Switch off device and boot into recovery by holding down volume up, home and power buttons.
Take a Nandroid Backup of your existing ROM. Select Backup and Restore and then again select Backup.
Select “wipe data/factory reset” and then confirm to wipe data.
Select “install zip from sdcard” and “choose zip from sdcard”. Navigate to the ROM file on the SD card which you downloaded to install. Wait for few minutes till ROM gets installed.
Select “choose zip from sdcard” again and now select to install “gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip” file to install the Google apps package.
Select “go back” then select “reboot system now”.
AOKP ROM is installed on your Galaxy Note 2 which is based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
