HTC Desire users can now enjoy a new Jelly Bean Android 4.1 ROM. All thanks goes to XDA Senior Member vijendrahs for porting AOKP Jelly bean based ROM to HTC Desire. The ROM will enable users to enjoy awesome features of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean like smooth interface, offline voice typing and smart keyboard to name a few. The ROM is in intial stage so you may find bugs.
The guide is only for HTC Desire and should not be tried on any other device.

Guide to install AOKP Jelly Bean ROM on HTC Desire
Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe data.
Make sure that the battery is charged to 60%.
Install ClockworkMod recovery on your device
Download the latest version of ROM from here and Google Apps package from here.
Copy both the above files to the SD Card of your device without extracting.
Switch off the device and enter into ClockworkMod recovery. Press and hold down the Volume Up, Volume Down and Power buttons. Enter into the recovery mode by choosing the “recovery” option.
Take a Nandrop backup of your existing ROM. Select “Backup and Restore” >> On the next screen >> “select Backup again”.Go back to main Recovery Menu once backup is complete.
Select option “wipe data/factory reset” and select to wipe the data. Wait for few minutes while the process gets finished.
Select “install zip from sdcard” and select “choose zip from sdcard”. Scroll to ROM file on SD card and confirm to install. Wait till the ROM completes installation.
Install “Google apps package” by choosing select “choose zip from sdcard” as in the above step.
Once installation of “Google apps package” gets complete.Select “go back” and select “reboot system now” to reboot device.
AOKP ROM based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is successfully installed on your HTC Desire. Enjoy!
