Samsung Captivate users can now get the goodness of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, credit goes to XDA Recognized Developer pawitp.
You should beware that it is preview build of Android JellyBean 4.2 from AOSP source code which is based on CyaogenMod. There may be few bugs and issues, as per Source page Wifi is not working for some users.
We will now go through step by step guide to install Android 4.2 Jelly Bean on Samsung Captivate.
The guide mentioned below is only for Samsung Captivate and cannot be tried on any other device.

Install Android 4.2 Jelly Bean on Samsung Captivate
Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.
Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.
Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.
ClockworkMod (CWM) recovery should be installed on your device.
Download ROM from here and Google Apps Package from here.
Copy both the zip files to SD-Card of your device without extracting.
Switch off device now and boot into recovery. To do that, hold down Volume down and Power buttons together. Use Volume buttons to select Recovery mode.
Take a backup of existing ROM. Select “Backup and Restore” and then select “Backup” again.
Select “wipe data/factory reset” and confirm to wipe data completely. Wait for few minutes.
Select “install zip from sdcard” and select “choose zip from sdcard”. Navigate to ROM file and select to confirm installation. It takes few minutes to cmplete the process of installation.
Select “choose zip from sdcard” again and select to install “Google apps package”.
Select “Go Back” and select “Reboot System Now” to reboot your device.
Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is installed on your Samsung Captivate.
