HTC One S users can now install a new ROM which is based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean named as CodefireX. With this Custom ROM users can now experience the features of Jelly Bean Android 4.1. It should be noted that the ROM is not an official ROM by HTC and is in ealy stage and may have bugs.
CodefireX ROM is a Nightly ROM which means that it will automatically update itself everyday with new improvements.
The ROM and the guide mentioned below is only for HTC One S 1.5Ghz Snapdragon S4 processor and will not for any other variant.

Install CodefireX ROM on HTC One S
Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.
Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.
Enable USB Debugging. You can do that by going to “Settings” >> “Developer settings” >> Enable “USB debugging” option.
Bootloader on your device should be unlocked. If it is not unlocked then you can unlock bootloader officially here.
ClockworkMod recovery should be installed on your device.
Install HTC Sync software so that you are able to install drivers to your device.
Download the latest ROM from here and Google Apps package from here.
Copy both the above downloaded files to SD-Card of your device without extracting.
Switch off device and enter into bootloader mode and take a backup of your existing ROM. Hold Volume Down button and then press power key to turn on device. Select “Recovery” using the volume buttons to navigate and power button to select to boot into recovery. Now,create backup select “Backup and Restore” and then select “Backup” again. By taking a backup of your existing ROM you can revert back if things don’t work out fine.
Now, extract “boot.img” file from the ROM which you downloaded in earlier step.
Download fastboot (Fastboot.zip) from here.
Extract Fastboot.zip file to C:\ drive on your computer and you will get a folder named Fastboot and copy “boot.img” file which you have extracted in the above step and copy it to Fastboot folder.
Switch off device and enter into fastboot mode. You will be required to boot into bootloader mode by holding the Volume Down button and then pressing power key. Select fastboot mode now using Volume buttons to navigate and power button to select.
Connect your phone to computer using USB cable in fastboot mode.
Open Command Prompt and enter command “cd c:\Fastboot”.
Enter another Command “fastboot devices” which will show the device number.
Now, enter “fastboot flash boot boot.img” and you will get a message “finished/OK”.
Disconnect your device from the computer and then device will enter bootloader mode. Select “Recovery”.
Select “wipe data/factory reset” then confirm to wipe data. Wait it will take few minutes to complete the process.
Select “install zip from sdcard” and select “choose zip from sdcard”. Navigate to the ROM file on the SD card to select and confirm installation. The ROM installation will start.
Repeat the procedure to install Google apps package.
Select “Go back” and select “Reboot system now”.
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean CodefireX ROM is installed on HTC One S.
