Android 4.1.2 (build JZO54K) was released by Google yesterday and OTA for Nexus 7 is available. The latest version of Jelly bean brings stability along with performance improvements. If you missed the OTA then you can install Android 4.1.2 manually on your device.
The guide mentioned below is only for ASUS Nexus 7 and is not compatible with any other device.

Install Android 4.1.2 (build JZO54K) on Nexus 7 manually
Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.
Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.
Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.
You should be running stock ROM build number JRO03D on your device. You can check build number by going to Settings >> About tablet.
Downlod Android 4.1.2 JZO54K OTA update from here (filename- 03a4eaf95f73.signed-nakasi-JZO54K-from-JRO03D.03a4eaf9.zip).
Copy the file without extracting to SD-Card of your device without extracting.
Switch off device and enter into recovery. Press and hold the Volume Up and Volume Down and Power buttons.
Select “install zip from sdcard” and then select “choose zip from sdcard”. Navigate to Android 4.1.2 JZO54K OTA update file and select to install. Wait till installation is complete.
Select “go back” and then select “reboot system now”.
Android 4.1.2 (build JZO54K) is installed on Nexus 7 manually.
