Unlocking bootloader on device enables you to install Custom ROMs. Today we will go through the procedure to unlock bootloader on HTC One X. Before you proceed further you should understand that unlocking bootloader voids the warranty of device.
The guide mentioned below is only for HTC One X and may not work for any other device.

Unlock bootloader on HTC One X
Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.
Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.
Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.
Extract “Fastboot.zip” file which you have downloaded to a folder named Fastboot.
Go to HTC dev center and create an account to sign it.
After signing to the Account, select the option “All Other Supported Models” and click on “Begin Unlock Bootloader”. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Switch off device and enter into Fastboot mode by holding Volume Down button and Power buttons.
Connect device to computer using USB cable.
Open Command prompt on your computer and type following commands-
fastboot oem get_identifier_token
Copy the text which you get after typing the commands.
Head over to HTC dev site and paste the text which you copied to “My Device Identifier Token”.
You will receive the “Unlock_code.bin” file in your email address by HTC dev site. Copy the code to fastboot folder in C drive.
On the command prompt type the following command fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin to unlock bootloader.
You have unlocked bootloader on HTC One X.
