Motorola RAZR i is a 4.3 inch super AMOLED Advanced capacitive touchscreen smartphone running on Android 4.0 ICS and powered by 2 GHz Intel. If you want to run Custom ROM then it is required that you unlock the bootloader of your device. XDA Forum Member mattlgroff has come up with a procedure to unlock the bootloader of Motorola RAZR i.
The guide mentioned below is only for Motorola RAZR i and cannot be tried on any other device.

How to unlock bootloader of Motorola RAZR i
Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.
Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.
Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.
Go to Motorola Website and sign in using MotoCast ID or your Google ID.
Download Razr i Rooting Tool on your computer.
Open Command prompt on your computer and type the command-
fastboot oem get_unlock_code
Now, log in to Motorola’s web page. Click on the option “Can my device be unlocked?” Once you agree to Moto agreements you will be sent unlock code to your email address to which you signed in.
In Command prompt again type the command-
fastboot oem unlock UNIQUE_KEY
You have successfully unlocked the bootloader of Motorola RAZR i.
