Nexus 7 priced at $199 was launched along with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS.For all those who have bought Nexus 7 and want to unlock and Root then you can do it easily, thanks to XDA Senior Member WugFresh .
Nexus Root Toolkit is a fully automated tool for unlocking and Rooting which has support for almost all Nexus device.
Before you try to unlock and Root your device it is advisable that you back up your data as the procedure will do a full wipe of your device.
Download Nexus Root Toolkit from here.
Go to Settings >> About Tablet >>Build Number to know about the Model No. of your device.
Go to Settings >> Developer options >> USB debugging and slide Developer options to ON.
Then Right click Nexus Root Toolkit icon on Windows PC and Run as Administrator.
Click on Full Driver Installation Guide – Automatic + Manual.
You will have to now follow the steps to install the drivers on to your Nexus 7 which can take some time.
Go through the embedded video below which will explain you how to unlock and Root Nexus 7.
Once the drivers are installed you can unlock your device by clicking on toolkit. You can use the option of Clockwork Mod or Team Win Recovery and then click on Root.
Your Nexus 7 will restart after few minutes, don’t unplug your device till then.
