Samsung launched Galaxy Camera having 4.77″ HD Super Clear Touch Display running on Android Jelly Bean enabling you to take stunning professional pictures. Good news is that XDA Elite Recognized Developer AdamOutler has rooted Galaxy Camera using CF-Auto-Root root method by Chainfire.
In this post we will be going through the guide to root Samsung Galaxy Camera. Before you go ahead, rooting voids warranty and it can be regained only after installing official firmware.
The guide mentioned below is only for Samsung Galaxy Camera and cannot be tried on any other device.
We cannot be held liable of any damage done to your device while following the below mentioned procedure.
How to root Samsung Galaxy Camera
Download Kies Software to install drivers for camera.
Download CF-Auto-Root package from here (CF-Auto-Root-gd1-ekgc100.zip) to your computer and extract the file to get a file named “CF-Auto-Root-gd1-ekgc100.tar.md5”.
Download Odin to flash your firmware from here (Odin3_v3.04.zip) and extract the contents, you will get “Odin3 v3.04.exe” file.
Switch off camera and by enter download mode by pressing Volume Down , camera and Power buttons till device turns on and you get a yellow triangle and then press Volume Up to enter download mode.
Connect camera to your computer. Odin will detect your device and ID:COM will turn yellow and a message appears saying “Added”. You will have to re-install drivers properly if Odin fails to detect device.
In Odin click on PDA button and select “CF-Auto-Root-gd1-ekgc100.tar.md5” which you downloaded in earlier step.
Click on Start button in Odin to start flashing CF-Auto-Root image on Galaxy camera. When flashing is complete you will get a PASS message.
Your Samsung Galaxy Camera is now rooted.
