Install CyanogenMod 10.1 Based On Android 4.1.2 On Galaxy Note 2

Galaxy S 3 I9300 received CM10.1 and now is the turn of Galaxy Note 2 to experience the goodness of Android 4.2 via CyanogenMod 10.1 and credits goes to Recognized Developer nebkat for making it possible.

Android 4.2 has features which include improved notifications, 360 Panorama photography, lockscreen widgets and more. Galaxy Note 2 users can install CM10.1 to experience the above mentioned features of Android 4.2 without waiting for the release of official update by Samsung.

The guide mentioned is only for International version of Galaxy Note 2- model number N7100 and cannot be tried on any other device. Check your device model in Settings » About Phone.

Install CyanogenMod 10.1 (CM10.1) on Galaxy Note 2 N7100

Take a complete backup of data,apps and settings as the procedure may wipe your data.

Make sure that the battery of device has a minimum charge of 60%.

Enable “USB debugging” on your device by going to Settings >> Developer options >> Enable USB debugging.

ClockworkMod recovery should be installed. Install Clockworkmod Recovery On Galaxy Note 2 N7100.

Download the CM 10.1 ROM from here and Google apps package.

Copy both ethe zip files to SD-Card of your device without extracting.

Switch off device and boot into recovery. Hold down Volume down and Power buttons simultaneously and using Volume buttons select Recovery mode.

Take a Nandrop backup of your existing ROM so that you can revert if things don’t well with the ROM. Select “Backup and Restore” and then select “Backup” again.

Select “wipe data/factory reset” and confirm to wipe data. Wait for few minutes till the data is wiped completely.

Select “install zip from sdcard” and select “choose zip from sdcard”. Navigate to ROM file and select to confirm installation. Wait till it gets installed.

Select “choose zip from sdcard” again and select to install “Google apps package”.

Select “Go Back” and select “Reboot System Now” to reboot your device.

CyanogenMod 10.1 (CM10.1) based on Android 4.2 is installed Galaxy Note 2 N7100.
